Fulfilment Plans & New Branding
Share
Hello everyone!
We're thrilled this month to be able to bring you news, that we are soon starting the assembly phase! We received word that our final parts landed in a UK port earlier this week. These final components represent the last pieces of the puzzle so we can begin our assembly line, here at our workshop in Leeds.
What is the status right now?
Currently, we're waiting for those parts to clear customs but we're hopeful this won't take too much longer. We've got everything else in place, so we're going to be able to get through a lot of units in a relatively short space of time, so it shouldn't take us long to get round to everyone.
Fulfilment Timeline
For simplicity of representation, with the resources we have we will be able to produce a number of briiv units in a certain time window and we'll call these 'batches'. We are first obligated to fulfil our backers on Kickstarter first as you know, but we're putting extra resources in place as we go on to expedite the build and QC process. As such, this may add additional time pressure pushing the current promised fulfilment time of August, likely into very early September.
We hope it doesn't come to this, but we do want to be as transparent as possible about the possibilities and expectations, so we are setting those new boundaries now. Those who have backed recently will possibly find themselves in the October bracket but we will of course release future updates with more accurate timings as we get more up to date information.
Add-Ons and Filters
Any additional filter packs or units you ordered through our store, we will tie up with your original pledges, so everything is going to arrive at the same time. In terms of storage for your additional packs, simply store them in a cool, dry place until they are ready to use. If you link your briiv unit to your app, you will get a notification when it's time to change your filters!
A whole filter pack as we retail them should last about 12 months on average (1 x moss pouch / 1 x coconut coir fibre = 12 months each, 4 x matrix = 3 months each), but this could be more or less depending on how much you use your units, so this is why the app is very handy because you'll know exactly how much optimal efficiency is left in each of them.
Introducing the briiv bird
In our last update you may have seen a sneak preview of our little mascot. This little helpful avian we're calling simply, the briiv bird. They are modelled on the canary, known for their history in the coal mines as signifiers for the workers that the air was potentially unsafe.
Canaries would be taken down in the mine-shaft and become animated when dangerous gases were growing more abundant, notifying to the miner it was time to leave. Canaries have long been retired from their role in yesteryear and we want to give the canary a new lease of life and identity, but still performing the same vital task as it did back then, helping humans breathe easier.
You'll know whenever you see the briiv bird, you see quality and reassurance. You will know you are being protected from airborne pollutants, particulates and harmful VOCs which are all too common in modern home and office environments.
The briiv bird will greet you on the opening of the app and in future may offer handy hints and tips on how to live more sustainably and facts about your air filter and the amazing impact you're having on the planet, just by having one.
See you soon!
We can't wait to show you the first briiv units being built in our workshop and we'll share more about the briiv bird who might have some things to say itself in the next update!
Till next time,
Sean and Team briiv
